*The following is an excerpt from the next short story series available exclusively through www.cyphercliquemusic.blogspot.com;

a diamond group production.

Part3;

A homeless man once told me that “music will save us all one day.”

The encounter beckoned when I snuck out of my Manhattan hotel room on

a Wesley College Honors trip in the middle of the night with a philosophy

major from Boston all because I thought she wanted to go to a club and

dance; we went to the Pearl Street Diner and ate.  Definitely a waste of

time. Nonetheless, the bearded traveler playing Frank Sinatra pieces on his

acoustic traded us this little piece of advice for the unpleasant steak and

eggs I barely touched and the 47 cents accumulating at the bottom of her

purse. Music will save us all one day.

----------

Mike and I slowly walk through the dark room to an area where the moonlight

could be seen pouring through an open window.  We hear a faint melodic hum that

turned out to be, as we got closer, a beautiful song coming from a female voice perched

in the corner of a deep closet.  The repetition of the words and the melody danced in my

head and I kept moving toward the moonlit shadow in the corner before he grabbed me

by the arm to signal us to stop.  I couldn’t make out her face (the stool she sat on was

turned away from us), but her voice was clear and I memorized every word;

Out of the true plain song they judged the melody;

Curious conveying hideth much harmony.

Therefore of the plain notes to set a sure ground

Maketh a modulation of most perfect sound.

In curiosity oftimes truth slippeth by

And in the plain true notes all the sweetness doth lie.

A glow radiated from the chest of every bird perched on the

window sill she leaned out of, and we stood for what felt like hours listening to the tune

that surrounded and encompassed us.  The sound was as beautiful as I had ever heard

and the notes she sang permeated through the room.  Then suddenly it all stopped.

She quickly snapped her head and noticed us listening quietly in the closet

doorway.

“My god…” was the only thing Mike managed to communicate.  I was still

mesmerized before I realized that she had pushed past us and hastily started heading

downstairs.  She hit the light of the hallway and for just a split second I caught her face.

This was the same girl who sat by herself on the couch earlier; almost as if she was

waiting on the song or the world to change, whichever came first.

Rule #6: Music will save us all one day.

Wake Me Up When Summer's Back (prod. D-Major)

You're scared of Ebola but you still have unprotected sex with ugly women...

New music from the only Delaware rappers performing out of state monthly

This new track is basically a throw away from "The Greatest Show On Thirst" recording sessions. It features a young crock pot by the name of Samuel Delaghetto and background vocals from everyones favorite Delaware producer Matt Howe (Tribe Beats). I wanted to release this back in the spring because it had that Spring fling type of feel... Hated my verse though. So I took my verse off... Atter watching Samuel Delaghetto perform at The Dover Urban Music Fest I decided to send it over to him and see what he could do with it. I fuck with the finished product. We'll be collaborating on more tracks soon. The city needs to hear talented voices.

Cypher Clique is performing with Mikey Rocks Thursday in Philly

"When we win we listen to Dom Kennedy and Sir Michael Rocks... When we lose we listen to Drake" - 2012

Damn bruh... Damn. At this time last week I was watching Vic Mensa, Casey Veggies, and Rockie Fresh in Atlanta with my band mate D-Major. We probably passed out more GSOT packages there than we did at our show (the irony). Today I woke up pissed as a single female. For no reason at all. My passion is so strong it upsets me sometimes. The same way yall feel about your significant other is how I feel about the music when it's not 100% how I want it.

I just love the music so much. I love every aspect about it.

  • I love hearing myself on beats I bought
  • I love hearing myself with other artists I emailed from across the country
  • I love hearing myself on the radio
  • I love seeing myself on my favorite websites
  • I love when pretty girls like my music
  • I love when my dad points out the flaws in my music videos
  • I love performing with the artists me and the homies (and pretty girls) listened to while drinking Carlo Rossi back in 2011

I'm a great person. Never let these past women tell you different until we have three intoxicated conversations.

You don't have to be scared about anything if you're beautiful... beautiful (I swear)
  • I only loved one girl... She was the best... She was beautiful... She's gone
  • Since she's gone I only love music
  • If you've ever chilled with me you know I love music
I've accomplished more in these last 3 years than you did because I actually chase goals I wanted to accomplish. You achieved goals because society told you that they would judge you if you didn't

Since we could die today... Act like we could die today... But live for tomorrow (pleeze make it home safe)

The Prequel

“Why did y’all make a song called Michael Sam Jersey Sales?”
Idk.. bc we wanted to…

-------

 -------

Did famous painters ever name their paintings?  I’m pretty sure they just released it and let everyone’s mind wander. Right? Well that’s what we do with songs.  Who cares about the name?  Just listen to the song and enjoy the music

 -------

Just before half, I strolled to the top of the football field’s hill where Salisbury players walked back for halftime.  Wesley was winning 27-3.  And I made sure every single player wearin’ shit ass maroon and gold knew it.  It was completely silent, and I was the only one yelling.

“I hope y’all don’t think it’s gonna stop.  We’re putting up 27 more because the players walking into your locker room don’t look like the players walking into our locker room.  They don’t play like the players in our locker room.  It’s about to get ugly…

Seconds later, I was escorted out of the stadium by Salisbury officials..

 -------

“Why do you guys sing all the time?”
This is the second question I’m getting a lot these days.  The answer is the same to both.  Because I want to.  Let’s check the facts:

1.     I’m not in the military.

2.     My family is good.

3.     I'm not in the military.

To me, that means I can do whatever I want.  This is America.  I can sing all day and make songs with my best friend called Michael Sam Jersey Sales about how most NFL players feel about this guy and wear mismatch bow ties and write short stories and walk out on my tabs at Smithers and Northbeach without getting in trouble or being fired from my job.

A great job, I might add.

 -------

Around 12:00 that night I found myself walking out of a bar in Salisbury, vomit covering my chest and sweating bullets from hours of dancing and shit talking like I was in the middle of a Chris Brown video.  The night fades to black – and the next thing I know I wake up on a soft couch in one of Salisbury’s dorm rooms.

It was a great night.

And the rest of you look like Michael Sam.

-       - Cypher Clique makes the best music in Delaware
