The Wave (prod. Dope Boi Beatz)

Most people don't want to be great...
But that's okay

Listen to "The Wave" by Cypher Clique on soundcloud now

We've decided to close out 2015 with one more song for you all. This is another track produced by Dope Boi Beatz (producer of Bryson Tiller's Don't). I have the first verse. I promise to never stop going in... I've just always wanted to say that. It was sincere though. Go check out the new track on soundcloud. It will be on iTunes, Spotify, ect later this week.

It's been a beautiful year...

I'm one of the last of my peers that wants to be great. These other guys are washed like laundry mats. I think there's a  misconception on the concept of being washed. Being washed doesn't just pertain to not having females or not partying as much as you used to. My definition of being washed is being complacent. Ok. We're not 20 anymore. But we're not 45 either. Therefore complacency is the last thing on my mind.

And I probably don't love you more than music

Back in 2014 I told yall "All I ever wanted to do was change the world".

Fuck the world.

Half is brainwashed by the TV... The other half is brainwashed by society and government.

The very few that make it through and live for themselves find an indescribable level of self worth and inner peace. There's something beautiful about waking up everyday with personal goals to get done. There's also something beautiful about accomplishing things you were told couldn't happen...

I could be petty and list all of my 2015 accomplishments but then this blog would be about 5 pages longer. I know how hard it is for some of you to read so I'll spare you the struggle. Just know that all the work and ambition from this year will be carried into 2016.

Tory Lanez & Cypher Clique Concert December 11th @ Coda Philly

As I tried to type this blog the first few times...

I tried to be fake deep with you guys. I tried to be fake humble. I tried to be fake sad. I tried to act like I wasn't closing the greatest musical year of my career by performing with the young gunner Tory Lanez in Philly. Then I realized that it would be easier to be straight forward.

This Friday at Coda Philly Cypher Clique will be closing out a historical year by joining Tory Lanez on his Swave Nation Tour. I had free tickets. I tried to give them to all the beautiful women I knew...

But!

they all have boyfriends... I wasn't trynna give free tickets to boyfriends with cuffing season on horizon. They've already got a head start.

I decided to give them to the people that have been showing support to the movement these past few years. We did the same thing with our FireFly passes...

In a follow-up to Cypher Clique's Fall 2013 effort, The City, the Dover-based group will be releasing a thrilling winter-themed project early next year tentatively called; The District.  The production will be handled mostly by Cypher Clique's own D-Major, along with hits from Dope Boi Beatz, a Los Angeles producer who is credited with Bryson Tiller's "Don't".  The full length project will sonically contrast the group's critically acclaimed summer album, Love the Universe (still available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, and most musical outlets.)  The album will also be accompanied by an interactive short story, adding to the art and feel of the project as a whole.
Stay supportive, Stay engaged, & Stay tuned...

"Don't be fooled by the money,
I'm still just young and unlucky...
I'm surprised you couldn't tell."

When I was in high school I used to think that the girls who came home from college for holiday breaks and random weekend visits were doing too much, too mixy - in a sense, were just looking for attention.  Then I moved to 3 different counties in 3 years, and I became the one coming home for holidays.  I became the one calling my friends to see if they could make time for a sesh before I had to leave.  I became the person hitting up all the old flames to see if we were still good.  Calling all the wrong numbers for the wrong reasons.  But now when I come back to Dover I come for one reason.  I don't want approval from anyone on anything - I don't want your opinion about my hair or the way I spend my money - I don't care about being in the mix or hitting every party as I slide through - now on the rare occasions I come back to Dover I just want.. to make history.  I think everyone that knows me understands how I view the world - how I view how we treat each other and how the things we say last a lifetime - how I view the different emotions we go through during the day - how I view trust and untrustworthy people.   At one point, when I was willing and innocent and impressionable and ambitious and wasteful and naive; at one point I believed that I could save the world.  But now - I just want to be remembered forever as someone who tried.  And this is how I start...

{---

The rock was sharp enough to pierce the skin. A circular granite rock lay amidst the high weeds by the old train station that looked to be deserted, despite the few anxious passengers waiting to board.  The rock would have been perfect for skimming across a pond, or carving initials into the side of one of the abandoned trains, but instead he grabbed it and with a slight flick of the wrist, flung the rock towards the nearest building with ease.  As the sharp object sailed through the sky, he thought about his baseball days back in high school. Once an all star pitcher, he was used to chucking circular, oblong objects through the air.  He also considered the previous day and night.  A night that changed his life.  Because much like the rock that somehow seemed to float high in the air effortlessly, he and everyone else who witnessed knew for fact, that eventually it would return back to a resting place.  Be it the ground some 200 feet away, or through shattered glass landing in an abandoned building.  ‘What goes up, must come down,’ he thought to himself.  All the movies he watched for years about what high school was supposed to be like were all wrong.  Imagine a world where the most outgoing and athletic students in the school gets the ambitious and joyful cheerleaders, to grow old, raise a family, and hopefully avoid granite rocks chucked into their windows by inconspicuous assailants.  Either way, the insurance will cover it.  This type of story only exists in Hollywood studios though.  In real life, well at least in this young man’s real life, conquering a girl’s heart requires a much more strenuous task then he had seen repeatedly on Lifetime movie specials and Teen Nick.  But one night…. Last night.

He lost sight of the rock as it sailed through the air, but the precision by which he through it, he knew where and how it would land.  It would come crashing down into one of the windows of the abandoned buildings, and judging by the amount of witnesses and train station workers around, he knew that there was a chance that this impulsive, yet juvenile decision would come with a consequence.

“Hey  : ). Good game today. You did great!” – He replayed the text message over and over in his head as he tried to make sense of the events of the night before.

“Thank you.” He couldn’t think of anything else to say.  He hadn’t known who the text was from, or even if it was meant for him.  He had allowed 5 runs in 6 innings, only to be bailed out by a late homerun by his best friend on the team.  Truthfully he hated baseball.  To be even more honest, he hated school.  He hated his girlfriend. He hated drugs, alcohol, commitment, small talk, pet fish, and even the extra crust of ketchup that’s constantly stuck at the top of the Heinz bottle in his refrigerator.

The rock loosely represented a part of him that he had lost forever.  The day before, he responded to the unknown text message, not with a “Thank you” as he should have, but a “Who’s this?” as if to open up some possibility that there was a conversation yet to be had between the two.  A star baseball player and an unknown admirer that needed to explain why and how they chose to send such a random message.  Or maybe it was a signal.  Maybe it was a gateway for two people to be introduced to each other.  Maybe, no matter the outcome of the game, a conversation needed to be had between the two.  And it happened.  They talked for nearly 2 hours.  He found out that she was in 3 of his classes even though they’ve never spoken a word to each other.  And after 2 hours of animated discussion, somehow lost in the prospect of chance and opportunity, he found himself at the doorstep of her 3 story, suburban home.  No cars were in the driveway because her parents were away and she totaled hers last week late at night during a situation she explained that “doesn’t even really matter”. He didn’t even really want to know.
The rock represented something so meaningless and pointless to others, something he had wanted to throw away for years now but just couldn’t find the means or the know how to do so.  It represented an objective view of right and wrong.  The rock represented his innocence.  And as soon as he let it go, there was nothing in the world he wanted more than to have it back.   ---}

The Wave & the Fall Back

I'm going to teach you how to get the girl of your dreams... You can thank me later...

instagram.com/eg_all_in

Ever since the critically acclaimed "Love the Universe" album was released a lot of things have been making me nervous.  I've been getting a lot of strange texts from people I don't know and hugs from people that used to hate me.  This Cypher Clique brand is a movement and we've got a plan to put Delaware on the map so most of this was expected, but I'm going to take time from our regularly scheduled musical takeover to break down a little something for the fans.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/love-the-universe/id991045470

I told y'all a couple blog posts ago that 2015 was going to be the year of forever.  But this here is something y'all can learn and master for the 2016 season.

It's a little move called "The Wave & the Fall Back":

The Wave:

I understand that trying to attract the attention of women is very hard for most of you, which explains all the anguish and embarassment you go through on all of these social networks you should have deleted years ago.  But in order to get the girl of your dreams, first, you must hit her with The Wave.  There are three parts to the wave.
Part 1:
1.  Lit Romney - the first time you see her in person, whether planned or unplanned, whether at a party or in the public, everything about you has to be classic.  The way you walk, talk, how you wear your clothes (notice I didn't say "what" you wear.  Buying expensive clothes is a waste of time if you don't know how to put outfits together.  Actually, buying expensive clothes is a waste of time anyway).  The way you carry yourself has to stand out and it starts with just being comfortable and being confident.  Keep these points in mind:
  • Dress differently (don't ever wear something you've seen someone else wear... ever)
  • Act confidently (nothing anyone says should create any emotion inside of you)
  • Walk tall
  • Never be in a rush to get anywhere (even if you're late)
  • Most importantly: look people in the eyes (I can't believe I have to tell people to do this but social networks have ruined the way most of you communicate)
Part 2:
2.  Accomplishments - No matter who you are or what you do, the girl of your dreams wants to know that you have goals and you are a master of something... anything.  If not she'll leave you for someone who does.  This usually has nothing to do with your job or the college you go to (the richest people I've met in my life never went to college).  This has everything to do with your hobbies and passions.  Everyone is the best at something.  Find your something.  (and if your something is a video game scroll to the top of your life's web browser and click that little "x" in the corner).  Once again, keep these points in mind:

  • Never, ever, ever.... ever brag about yourself (accomplishments speak for themself)
  • Be proud of who you are (if you're swaggiest caddy in the golf game, she should see it in your eyes)
  • Keep your accomplishments away from social networks
  • Keep your business away from social networks
  • Keep your life away from social networks
  • Last but not least: look people in the eyes (my dad used to smack the shit out of me whenever I would shake someone's hand sitting down or not look people in the eyes when I talked.  I'm about to start doing the same to some of you)

instagram.com/eg_all_in

Part 3:
3.  The Number Grab - Alright so... my 2 homies at the beach (you know who you are) are gonna be tight that I'm sharing this with you but I'll take this part down from the blogspot if we get too many viewers.  This right here is a fuckin' gem we've been using for years to get girls' numbers.  It's very simple.  And it works almost 95% of the time (I don't think it's never not worked for me but my brother like a Wayan used it the other night at The Rusty Rudder and the girl wasn't having it.  I cried laughing).  Very, very simple.

  • After she has noticed you walk, talk, and interact with people as the Guy (*see Swaggy McPeterson ^^),
  • & she has some type of insight into your accomplishments^ (if you're at a party, you better either be dancing or the DJ),
  • you just walk up to her with no words, look her directly in the eyes, and hand her your phone with the number keypad screen open.  Works every time if you have handled the first two parts.

  • After this you can either make small talk or head directly to...

 The Fall Back:
The Fall Back is something I have seen a lot of people fucking up since high school.  It's really disgusting the way some of you go about attracting women, which is the reason I've seen someone get cheated on every weekend since I graduated from Caesar Rodney (the greatest high school in the state of Delaware).  I understand that trying to attract the attention of women is very hard for most of you, mostly because a lot of you needed fathers growing up.  Not all, but most.  Once again, there are three parts to the Fall Back.

Part 1:
1.  The Wait - I know a lot of your "self help" books or online dating manuals tell you rejects to start talking to a girl as soon as you get her contact info but that's weird and creepy, so relax.  Just wait one whole day after you pull the "Number Grab" and text her in the morning.  (So if you get the number Friday night, text her Sunday morning - Saturday night, text her Monday morning) And this is exactly what you say... trust me on this...

"Hey you, it was good seeing you the other night.  I hope you didn't get into anymore trouble after I left? -Your Name"
  • Okay, it may sound corny but it works EVERYTIME. (no matter if shes black, white or Asian)
  • They will always respond to the text, no matter what. (unless there's a problem w/ your wave)
  • It's important that you text in the morning because you don't want her to think you're a bum that sleeps in everyday (and if you do sleep in everyday, you are a bum)
  •  Give her sometime to respond, if she doesn't text back, hit her the next day with the "aww, am I really that awful).  At that point they'll either tell you they have a boyfriend or that they forgot to text you back.
  • This has only NOT worked for me one time in my life, and it was a Romanian chick I met in Ocean City who didn't know how to work her new phone.  She's in love with me now.
  • Don't slander any of her old flings (don't even bring up her relationship history at all brah)
 Part 2:
2. The Conversation - Keep it short and simple.  Don't send her anymore than 4-5 texts without either suggesting that you meet up again or asking what she's doing that weekend.  You don't want to be her new text buddy, that's the fastest way to the friend zone.  You wanna seem like you are about your business.  Keep these things in mind.
  • Texting sucks. Talking on the phone is better. (talking in person is the best)
  • Don't text back too fast (let her breathe, more than likely there are other thirst lords in her phone falling head first into the friend zone)
  • Don't share social networks (if you're like me, you don't want the girl of your dreams to have constant updates and pictures... and snapchat stories.. of your life. At least until you get your shit together)
  • Make sure you bring up your passions and hobbies and ask about hers.  (once again, if your passion/hobbies are video games, just turn your phone off and go play in traffic)
  • No ex-boyfriend slander. At all. (no one likes this guy. grow up, plus I doubt you really want to know all the shit she's done in her past)

Part 3:
3. The Fall Back - This is the part that most of my peers fuck up and it's hilarious/disgusting.  This is also the part where most of my homies swoop in and steal/borrow your girlfriend (not me though, that's my old bad habit).  At some point in every new relationship you HAVE to give her the chance to chase you - to look a little thirsty.  This is the only way you can start a respectful and two way relationship where both people feel comfortable communicating their feelings in the future.  At some point after you first meet and introduce yourself to her, you've got to fall back. This means give her some time to herself.  Don't answer all of her texts. (Light skinned chicks hate/love not being texted back).  And if you're really wavy, my favorite move is this:  text her asking 2 questions, what her favorite food is and when's the next time she's free? Then, never take her on this fictional date, or even respond to her answers... (not everyone can pull this move off though, you've gotta really be on your shit).  Remember:

  • If you're gonna be with this girl, you want her to know that she is her own person
  • The Fall Back helps her fall in love with you more (girls love what they can't have)
  • This is the time where you let her choose you, b/c you've been choosing since the start
  • Make sure you don't slander anyone in the process. Spread positivity, not hate.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can follow whatever procedure you want when trying to attract the perfect girl, but the next time your crush tells you she's spending the weekend in Dewey and you don't hear from her for days, you're gonna wish you paid attention.  Stay confident. Stay strong.  And remember that you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

a diamond group production.

Part3;

A homeless man once told me that “music will save us all one day.”

The encounter beckoned when I snuck out of my Manhattan hotel room on

a Wesley College Honors trip in the middle of the night with a philosophy

major from Boston all because I thought she wanted to go to a club and

dance; we went to the Pearl Street Diner and ate.  Definitely a waste of

time. Nonetheless, the bearded traveler playing Frank Sinatra pieces on his

acoustic traded us this little piece of advice for the unpleasant steak and

eggs I barely touched and the 47 cents accumulating at the bottom of her

purse. Music will save us all one day.

----------

Mike and I slowly walk through the dark room to an area where the moonlight

could be seen pouring through an open window.  We hear a faint melodic hum that

turned out to be, as we got closer, a beautiful song coming from a female voice perched

in the corner of a deep closet.  The repetition of the words and the melody danced in my

head and I kept moving toward the moonlit shadow in the corner before he grabbed me

by the arm to signal us to stop.  I couldn’t make out her face (the stool she sat on was

turned away from us), but her voice was clear and I memorized every word;

Out of the true plain song they judged the melody;

Curious conveying hideth much harmony.

Therefore of the plain notes to set a sure ground

Maketh a modulation of most perfect sound.

In curiosity oftimes truth slippeth by

And in the plain true notes all the sweetness doth lie.

A glow radiated from the chest of every bird perched on the

window sill she leaned out of, and we stood for what felt like hours listening to the tune

that surrounded and encompassed us.  The sound was as beautiful as I had ever heard

and the notes she sang permeated through the room.  Then suddenly it all stopped.

She quickly snapped her head and noticed us listening quietly in the closet

doorway.

“My god…” was the only thing Mike managed to communicate.  I was still

mesmerized before I realized that she had pushed past us and hastily started heading

downstairs.  She hit the light of the hallway and for just a split second I caught her face.

This was the same girl who sat by herself on the couch earlier; almost as if she was

waiting on the song or the world to change, whichever came first.

Rule #6: Music will save us all one day.

Too Clean For Me ft Marty (prod. Downtown Music)

Girls fall in love with us every summer...

Sometimes we fall in love with them as well...

Too Clean For Me

[Pardon my absence. Everyone's been acting strange as hell as Firefly gets closer. I had to fall back to get my business in order and shake the leeches.]

"Summer is coming, know you can feel it"

It's starting to look like summer out here. The women are getting badder and my shit talk is A1. It was only right to match "Love The Universe" with the vibe of the summer. Love The Universe is gonna be the soundtrack you listen to with your gf and your side chic. Love The Universe is gonna be what you listen to on the way to Dewey for the next few months.

I really just want every pretty girl to pre-order "Love The Universe" - Mic Anthony

I'm not new to this

There's this misconception that I'm on the local come up. NAW. I've been out here since 07. We were out here off rip. Me and Erich were the only Caesar Rodney rappers in the class of 09. We went to the biggest high school in the state by the way... We were literally performing in college shows in high school while you were experimenting with hard drugs. The Mattress has more downloads than your last mixtape. The Mattress dropped before Drake's first album dropped... I don't want to say I'm better than most rappers in Delaware. But I'm definitely ahead... by a lot

Half the women say I'm humble... The other half say I'm cocky... Most of them text me

I can't stress to you guys enough on how cold I am. It seems like only the closest to me get to see the coldness. I don't need love. I need results. Everyone wants shit but haven't done shit. Why am I the only one that doesn't miss people? How sick am I? And does that make me a bad person? I feel real good right about now. In less than a month Cypher Clique makes history...

Welcome to the Spring

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo spring officially starts tomorrow and I decided to hit the good people with a blog. The very very very next blog will probably have a pre-order link for the next cypher clique project dropping mid-June (and free tank tops... We're givin' out free clothes all summer.)

[I wrote all of this on a note and left it on my mom's nightstand next to this baby picture.

I am the greatest student to ever graduate from a graduate research program at the university of Delaware.

I'm the first student to never buy a physical copy of a textbook during a graduate research program at the university of Delaware

I'm the swaggiest student in the history of graduate research at the university of Delaware.

I'm the first student to inexplicably move from Newark to Dewey Beach in the middle of a graduate research program at the university of Delaware,

I'm the only student to ever take the summer off and work for other graduate research programs during my time in a graduate research program at the university of Delaware.

I thought about Camden, NJ everyday as a graduate student at the university of Delaware.

I proved to every one on the coast that I know more Mathematics than anyone should be able to handle while at a graduate program at the university of Delaware.

I was the only former collegiate athlete in any of my graduate research classes at the university of Delaware.

I'm the waviest Graduate student in the history of the university of Delaware.

...

At the bottom of the note I wrote:]

Mom I love you,

But there's no way in hell I'm walking at another graduation

- Erich "

The Knicks Tape ft Sam Delaghetto (prod. Tribe Beats)

My youth got me thinking I can make music forever

Download Now On Soundcloud

Part of growing up is realizing that not as many people love you as you originally thought. They might show you conditional love when it's beneficial but that's not real love. That's why self love is so necessary. They can call it narcissistic if they want but I'll never let myself down.

No Handout for the 2015No Excuses for the 2015No Mediocrity for the 2015

I haven't seen some of my oldest friends since last year... Don't feel offended if you don't see me as much. I swear any free time is spent with yall. But I'm working my ass off right now. Getting on FireFly is cool but the amount of expectations now increases. Everything has to be better. To get better you have to focus and think. It's hard to focus and think with drunk dudes and beautiful women around. Great for inspiration but terrible for brainstorming. I love (some) of yall

I can't stress it enough when I talk about Cypher Clique. We've never had a manager or booking agent. Everything we've ever accomplished was done by no one but us. S/o to the plugs but all the plugs went through us directly. There's no asshole getting 15% from us. It was all us. No matter if we were 17 or 23 we handled all of our music business internally.

My tape did over 2k in less than a week. So why is your tape under 100 downloads after a whole year?

"Watch how many people come out of nowhere and try to be by your side" - Jadakiss (2004)

I'm aware of the crabs in the bucket as well... I'm aware of the shade coming from people that live on a street called mediocrity. I just can't acknowledge it. There's too much going on elsewhere. There's not enough time to spare. We gotta get these tracks out. Slowing down to explain a process that's been running since 2007 would be a waste of time.

I've been touring the east coast with Cypher Clique for a half a decade. I performed in my first show before I had my first drink. We used to get dropped off at the studio because we were too young to drive. You new niggas start rapping because you got cut from the basketball team.

Time Is Your Biggest Enemy

Music is similar to sports in a few ways. In both music and sports there are people that are born with the gift and people that learn the skill. I'd say only 5% of people are born with the gift. The other 95% have to study the craft to get better. There's no way you discover your gift after the age of 18. That means it's more than likely a skill. If that's the case you started trying to enhance your skills dumb late in the game. If that's the case you should probably start focusing harder than the artists that started ten years ago to keep up.

Go to everyoneisdangerous.com asap like Rocky.

I hope everyone around me strives for excellence. There's no reason to be satisfied with anything else. If you're around me or in my camp this year you better keep up. Everyone has to kill shit. I'll have no problem cutting wack shit off this year. Work hard or talk shit.

Cypher Clique’s New Project “Everyone is Dangerous”; a review

Inside Look | Peep Delaware group Cypher Clique's New Project "Everyone is Dangerous"

written by Alex Bell
@ayybeeisme

There's a great deal to be said about the stars aligning when in pursuit of something great. That's what Dover, Delaware hip-hop squadron Cypher Clique has been grinding for since 2007, and with the release of their latest EP and short story package titled Everyone is Dangerous on February 4, it's clear to see that there's some constellations shifting into motion, and the Clique is on the precipice of something major. Oh, and did I mention that they're also fresh off  the heels of being the named as the first Delaware hip-hop act ever to perform at the first state's steady growing music festival, Firefly? With such a huge honor bestowed upon them coupled with the release of their latest project, the Clique realizes that their time is now, and none of that time can be spent half-steppin'.

"With Spring and Summer coming, we're switching into tour mode. We're in the process of booking a hefty amount of shows and expanding this year, and in turn hopefully reaching new markets," says Mic Anthony, the group's designated shit talker and one of the main contributors to the Clique's ever developing sound. With a multitude of shows and opportunities on the horizon, the DE group has got a lot to be excited about, but there's no denying that the first state's festival isn't just another notch on the Clique's belt --- one that includes opening for acts like Wale, A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, Meek Mill, and Action Bronson.
"It's historical. Hopefully the Firefly Festival continues on for the next fifty years so we can look back and say we were the first. Firefly is a great accomplishment, but there is still much more to be done," Mic admitted. As Anthony alludes to, being named to the east coast festival's  2015 lineup among the likes of Beatles front man Paul McCartney, OG west coast icon Snoop Dogg, Cleveland musician KiD CuDi, and EDM mastermind Steve Aoki is pivotal, but the booking isn't a certified validation that the Clique has "made it." Instead, it merely raises the bar for the collective, and with a long 2015 calendar year ahead of them, they're dialed in on what's necessary for them to progress to the next level. Keeping that in mind, their aforementioned project Everyone is Dangerous is surely a step in the right direction.

The project, which is actually a compilation of nine songs as well as a short, post-apocalyptic narrative written by Cypher Clique associate Erich, showcases what the group has been working on since they dropped their last joint "Greatest Show on Thirst" this past August. The EP does a thorough job in ushering its listeners into a musical environment that capitalizes on sounds and concepts that the Clique has perfected on projects prior, but a number of the tracks also wander into realms that could be categorized as experimental when you view the group's musical catalog as a whole.
"Rakim in 88," a joint produced by Clique member D-Major, is a prime example of the group doing what they do best, with all three members flipping the script over a boom bap beat that rips a sample from A Tribe Called Quest's canonical record "Bonita Applebum." As Mic staked claimed on the group's vlog in January, the track features Major's best verse to date, and Relay and Mic come through with a clinic on flowetry as well. Other tracks on the project that seem sonically familiar to the group's formula are "Her Phone Died," as well as Relay's word play wonder "Midnight Rush."
Since '05, ran game like ball courts
Money was the motive, wasn't into fall sports
Posted on the corner, more routes than Stallworth

While the aforementioned tracks came across as familiar territory for the Delaware trio, a number of other joints stuck out as well, and for good reason. Tracks like the EP's intro jam "Michael Sam Jersey Sales," "The Channel Davis Interlude," and "298 Trafalgar Drive," all bring forth sounds that are entirely new for the Clique, yet they're what give the EP the legs to travel outside the boundaries of conventionality. One of the most notable additions to the Clique's repertoire is that of member Mic Anthony singing, a tactic that he claims came up unconsciously.
"I honestly didn't realize how much I was singing on the project until we started doing the final track list. After we released Greatest Show on Thirst in August, we just kept making music. Everyone is Dangerous wasn't a project at all. It wasn't until December that we realized we had a whole new project on our hands. We had a group of loose tracks that came together cohesively over time. I guess it all happened naturally."
Whether intentional or not, Mic's singing is a welcome addition to the Clique's clip, as it allows them to branch out to a strand of hip-hop that's becoming increasingly popular thanks to figureheads like Yeezy, Drake, and Childish Gambino. On the song "The Channel Davis Interlude," Mic laments about a chick that he bagged back in the day, weaving through the Tribe Beats production with a chorus that's sure to barricade itself in your head after only a few listens.

I was chillin' wit a pretty twenty-somethin' that night, said she got a man that can't give pipe... Damn, I miss my hookah.
I was chillin' wit ya shorty in the backseat (backseat), called it quits, now she messin' with an athlete... Damn, I miss my hookah --- I need my hookah.

The track also features verses from Relay and Cypher Clique frequent collaborator Frank Boy, and it's undoubtedly one of the EP's top tracks. In addition, "298 Trafaglar Drive," is another joint that features Mic mixing melodies and rhymes, a tactic that Mic says he will look to improve upon over the course of the next year.
" As an artist and as a group I just want to continue to get more experimental with the sound. I'm a fan of rappers that push the limits of the genre, so I definitely aspire to be one of those artists in time." As evidenced by the tracks mentioned above, Mic and his Cliquemates are progressing towards the next chapter of their musical journey as a unit, but thankfully with the assistance of some familiar faces. Tribe Beats, producer of former fire Clique jams "Good Money," as well as "I Feel Right," contributed three tracks on the project, and Erich, an artist on some of the Clique's earliest projects, appeared all over the EP as well. The combination of Tribe and Erich making appearances on the Clique's tracks is something that should be welcomed, as they further solidify the content that the group has found their footing on over the course of the past three years in particular.
"He enhances the swag of our group and he helps put the lifestyle I'm trying to portray into a better perspective that can be easily consumed and understood by our audience," says Mic of Erich. "The short stories were completely Erich's idea. He told me he was writing them so we decided to make it happen. No one else is doing it, so we definitely stand out."
As for Tribe, Mic acknowledged that the producer is his go to guy when the Clique is looking to tread in uncharted territory.
"When I record at Tribe's it's a whole different vibe. Everything is usually created from scratch. Sometimes we'll be locked in there for three days at time, with hundreds of bottles and different women coming through to inspire us," Mic added nonchalantly.
With Erich and Tribe teaming up with the Clique on this EP, that lifestyle that Mic mentioned is coming into a sharper focus with the track "Wake Up Now Money," and the EP's crowning achievement (according to ME), "Lit AF." Both tracks are produced by Tribe, and Mike's claims of swag are quite evident, especially on the latter. "Lit AF" begins as what sounds like a cuffing season anthem driven by soft piano strokes --- but quickly the listener is brought back to reality once Erich kicks off the vocals with a rather blunt "I'm petty and I'm rich as f--k." At it's core, "Lit AF" is a social commentary on the shallow relationships formed by members today's young generation, but on the surface its a banger that you're ears will beg you to continually revisit.

2014 is in the books, and with some major moves already being made in the new year, Cypher Clique is primed for big things over the course of the next 11 months. Everyone is Dangerous is valid proof that not only are the members of this Delaware collective getting better at the fundamentals that have delivered them to this point, but they're also navigating new territory for the first time, and with relative ease at that. All nine tracks on this EP render up points of interest, and it'll be interesting to see how the Clique continues to mold their sound and style with Summer and this year's Firefly Festival quickly approaching.
